We want you to be completely happy with your purchase, whether you are upgrading a commercial fleet or repowering a fishing boat. We have a clear and equitable Refund and Returns Policy because we recognize that buying an outboard motor is a big investment.
Our policy is made to uphold the high standards of the marine sector while adhering to consumer protection laws.
Return Period: The 30-Day Guarantee
For the majority of products, we provide a 30-day return window. You have 30 calendar days from the date your outboard engine or marine component is delivered to your address to start the return process.
Eligibility: Your item must be in its original factory packaging, unused, and unmounted in order to qualify for a return.
Proof of Purchase: In order to handle any refund, a legitimate receipt or proof of purchase from BuyOutboardEnginesOnline is needed.
Non-Returnable Items & Exceptions
Certain items cannot be returned due to safety regulations and the nature of naval equipment:
Registered Engines: An outboard motor cannot be returned as “new” after it has been registered with the manufacturer for warranty purposes.
Used or Installed Parts: Any engine that has been started, fueled, or mounted to a transom is deemed “used” and cannot be returned in the typical manner.
Custom-configured engines or “special order” components that are not normally kept in our regular inventory are examples of special orders.
Hazardous Materials: Once the seal is damaged, liquids such gear lubricants, fuel stabilizers, and engine oil cannot be replaced.
Damaged or Defective Items
When crating and shipping our engines, we take considerable care. However, please take the following actions if your item is discovered to be defective or arrives damaged:
Examine Upon Delivery: Before signing the Bill of Lading (BOL), carefully check the cargo carton for any indications of damage.
Document: Take clear pictures of the product and its packaging and record any obvious damage on the driver’s delivery receipt.
Contact Us: Within 48 hours of delivery, send an email to support@buyoutboardenginesonline.com to inform our support staff.
We will work with the manufacturer (Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, etc.) to arrange for a repair or replacement for defective units under the terms of the regular manufacturer’s warranty.
How to Initiate a Return
Please use our simplified Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) protocol to begin the return process:
Send a Request: Provide your order number and the reason for the return in an email to our returns department.
RMA Approval: After your request is accepted, you will receive an RMA number and the precise return mailing address.
Safe Packaging: Make sure the engine or component is kept in its original box or crate. Your refund may be void because units that are not supplied in their original packaging often sustain damage during transportation.
Shipment: Clearly write the RMA number on the package’s exterior.
Return Shipping Costs & Restocking Fees
client Responsibilities: The client is liable for all return shipping expenses unless the return is the result of an error on our part (the wrong item was received) or a proven shipping damage claim.
Restocking Fee: All returned outboard engines are subject to a standard 15% restocking fee. Technical inspection, uncrating/recrating, and administrative processing are all covered by this price.
shipment Fees: There is no reimbursement for the initial shipment costs.
Refund Process and Timelines
We will notify you via email as soon as our marine technicians have received and examined your return.
Inspection: Usually, the inspection procedure takes three to five business days.
Approval: Your refund will be accepted if the item is in its original, resalable condition.
Refunds are given to the original payment method that was used at the time of checkout.
Processing Time: The credit may not show up on your statement for seven to ten business days, depending on your bank or credit card company.
Exchanges
We are pleased to arrange an exchange if you accidentally ordered the incorrect shaft length or horsepower. If you place a new order for an engine of equal or higher value, we will waive a portion of the restocking cost.
